" Come out and challenge yourself in the discipline of Precision Aerobatics , known as "Pattern" flying. This annual event in memory of a good friend of many aeromodelers, is designed to promote good flying, good fellowship and the improvement of safe and satisfying flying skills for modellers at all competency levels. The beginner, or Sportsman level will have the rules somewhat relaxed in that any fixed wing model can be used, and the flight "box" outer boundaries will be emphasized but not judged. In the Intermediate level any model may be entered, but the flight "box" will be judged. FAI judging rules with regards to aircraft weight, (max 5 KG) and size, (max 2 metre) will apply for FAI-A Advanced and FAI-P Preliminary schedules.
Activity will commence on the afternoon of Friday 07 JUN 19 with field preparation and informal flight practice and demonstration. Saturday 08JUN19 will commence with the pilot's meeting at 08:30, followed by a group photo prior to first round flights. Lunch for competitors, judges and helpers will be provided. The $30 pilot's fee will be reduced to $15 for the Sportsman class only. Sunday 09JUN19 is set aside as a "rain day" or may be used for an extension of the event should the number of participants be such that sufficient rounds cannot be completed on Saturday.
Dry camping for the event is available on site.
